Baltimore 4th of July: Where to See the Best Fireworks

This blog was originally published in 2015, but we have updated it to reflect information for 2016 4th of July fireworks in Baltimore. 

Summer is a time for enjoying the sun, taking a swim, hiking, boating, traveling and enjoying life on the Chesapeake Bay.

It’s also the time of year when fireworks, patriotism and celebration ensue, all in the name of Independence Day!

Baltimore is known throughout the country for its amazing 4th of July celebrations.

If you’re lucky enough to spend Independence Day here, consider one of these amazing events!

Activities Before Dark

The American Visionary Art Museum will present their annual “Pets on Parade” event this July 4th. You’ll get the opportunity to dress your fur baby up and enter to win such distinctive titles as 

+ The 82st Annual Dundalk 4th of July Parade route begins on Dundalk Avenue and ends at Dunmanway, starting at approximately 8:15AM. The Parade is sponsored by The Heritage Association of Dundalk and The Dundalk Heritage Parade Committee and is hosted by The Optimist Club of Dundalk, Inc.

Baltimore’s 4th of July Celebration Presented by Ports America Chesapeake

Monday, July 4, 2016: 7 PM – 10 PM

The Inner Harbor will be alight once again in 2016 with this incredible fireworks display!

Arrive at 7 PM to enjoy the live musical stylings of the U.S. Navy Band Cruisers.

Stick around until 9:30 to watch the breathtaking fireworks, presented by Pyrotecnico.

For those of you watching from the Top of the World Observation Level can enjoy a special Picnic at the Top from 7 PM – 10 PM.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Presents A Star Spangled Spectacular

July 4, 2016

Tickets: $20 for adults, $10 for children

Head to Oregon Ridge in Cockeysville to hear the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s presentation of the 2016 Star Spangled Spectacular.

Helmed by Conductor Nicholas Hersh, the Spectacular will take place outdoors and feature some classic patriotic favorites from the orchestra.

John Phillip Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture are just some of the inspirational compositions you can hear at the event.

You can also witness a performance of Star Spangled Banner from the BSO’s “O, Say Can You Sing?” contest winners!
